ASUS Transformer Pad TF700 Review
ASUS has recently launched a new tablet in its Transformer series known as TF700 or Transformer Pad Infinity. This tablet has a HD display which is sharper and has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The tablet uses Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, has an enhanced 2-megapixel camera on the front that supports HD video chat and an 8-megapixel camera on the rear. The power of the tablet comes from a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and 1 GB DDR3 RAM. TF700 has all the features that were present in the original Transformer prime.
Design
This Transformer Pad TF700 is a modified version of the Asus Transformer TF201 as it has same connections and ports but adjustments have been made in their placements. Thickness of TF700 is 0.33 inch and it uses aluminum to cover its complete most of its body. The reason or this is the existence of an inch long plastic panel on the back.
In the original Prime tablet, users faced difficulty while accessing GPS, because aluminum made it difficult to access GPS signal. Asus has tried to resolve this problem in TF700 by using plastic in that region. Despite all these changes TF700 is the lightest Transformer series tablet.
On the front is 2-megapixel camera and on the back it has 8-megapixel camera, there is LED support provided and also on the left side is microphone pinhole. The power/sleep button works perfectly in the tab. Right side on the back is the speaker holes.
Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 also comes with a keyboard dock which is optional. The keyboard doc is slightly cramped for big hands, yet it is comfortable and the buttons are well placed and have a soft feel.
Operating System
Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 is the second tablet from ASUS which comes with Android 4.0.3 preinstalled in it. It is true that Android 4.0 is the best version of Android till now. TF700 comes installed with several Asus applications. After you have registered TF700, you will get 8GB of free cloud-based storage space in Asus MyCloud and Asus WebStorage.

Performance
The TF700 has a resolution of 1920x 1200 pixels and this makes it equal only to Acer Iconia Tab A700s, which makes it the highest resolution tablet in market using Android.
Gaming in high resolution feels great, with great color and contrast, the images become more vibrant in deeper black levels. The TF700 has wider angles for viewing and thus increases the gaming pleasure.
The web speed in TF700 was superb and while scrolling though long pages of websites TF700 showed no signs of clipping, after the page was completely loaded. The speed of surfing when compared to other tablets was a second slower than iPads but otherwise it beat the all others. The downloading also worked fine with speeds up to 19 Mbps, this matches the performance of Prime and iPad.
GPS performance is also much better than Prime's and it can easily connect to 12 satellites at a time. The front camera has clearer pictures with better contrast and vibrant colors. The back camera has an aperture of F/2.2, as compared to F/2.4 of Prime. The pictures from this 8-megapixel camera are colorful and detailed and much better than Prime's as it has better aperture size.
The speakers of TF700 are slightly better than Prime's in clarity, but same in quality and volume. The battery backup is also good and near to 8.5 hours as claimed by Asus.
Conclusion
When compared to other Android tablets which includes Prime, this tablet has a screen that is sharper, gives a better game performance and good clarity cameras on the back and front. The sharpness of the books is that which rival iPad. It has a fast CPU and sufficient RAM which makes this tablet's working fast. But more applications are needed to harness the power of quad-core CPU. GPS works well and Web speed is fast.
